DELL PERC H730 with Battery is an eight-port internal RAID controller with a dual-core PowerPC processor and a 72-bit DDR3 interface managing 1 GB of non-volatile cache. It provides RAID and non-RAID (pass-through) operation at the same time for dense 1U/2U servers with SATA/SAS HDDs and SSDs.

The controller is based on the LSI SAS 3108 ROC (dual-core PowerPC 476), connects over PCI Express 3.0 x8 and delivers up to 12 Gbit/s per port. Two internal HD Mini-SAS SFF8643 connectors support up to 255 devices. Features include RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50, 60, online capacity expansion (OCE), RAID level migration (RLM), 4K native sectors, TRIM/UNMAP, SED drives, patrol read, S.M.A.R.T., global and dedicated hot spares and FastPath SSD optimization.
